Hello😁!!

Today I would like to further introduce the Receiving School that welcomed me as one of the delegates from Indonesia during the SEA Teacher Batch 6 program. It is just like an imagination that I jumped out of a skydiving plane and discovering that my parachute landed in one of the schools in the Philippines named Benguet State University (BSU).

Benguet State University or commonly referred to as BSU is a state university located in Benguet Province, Philippines. As with the facts and what I have observed, BSU is dominated by green. Apparently because BSU is located and surrounded by a green mountainous area. This is amazing for me because I never found a university that was very close to the mountains.

Furthermore, BSU has three campuses, namely:

1. The BSU main campus which is located in the municipality of La Trinidad (the capital of the Philippine Strawberry) about 256 km. North Manila and 5 km. from Baguio city.

2. The BSU-Buguias campus is located in the municipality of Buguias where abundant vegetables are harvested.

3. The BSU-Bokod campus is located in the municipality of Bokod near the foot of Mount. Pulag, the second highest mountain in the Philippines.

As a university, Benguet State University (BSU) also has the following vision, mission and goals.

BSU

Associated with accreditation, Benguet State University (BSU) is at the CHED SUC Level IV and reaches Level III in most of its academic degree programs under the AACCUP (Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and University of the Philippines) accreditation system.

Furthermore, Benguet State University (BSU) provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of arts, science, humanities, and professional fields in agriculture, natural sciences, technology, and other technical and professional courses. Benguet State University (BSU) will also promote research, counseling, agribusiness, and advanced studies and progressive leadership in the field of specialization.

Benguet State University (BSU) has two satellite campuses, eight colleges, two academic institutions, and one graduate school. Benguet State University (BSU) also runs the Open University. These units offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in agriculture, forestry, teacher education, nursing, physical sciences and the arts. Some units also offer non-degree programs and short courses.

Regarding the facilities provided for students, Benguet State University (BSU) has many departments and services like dormitories for men and women, cafeterias, clinics that provide dental and medical services, fully automated libraries with online public access catalogs, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, marketing centers, shops souvenirs, and post offices to serve the needs of students. In addition, banks with ATMs, internet cafes, fast food stores, malls, and hospitals are also located near the campus.
